1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using ChairLook ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform.
2. User Accounts
When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent
- Not impersonate any person or entity
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
3. Professional Licensing & Verification
For service providers (stylists, salons, schools):
- You must hold all required licenses for your profession and location
- Verification badges indicate ChairLook has reviewed submitted credentials
- You are responsible for maintaining current licenses and certifications
- False claims of licensing or credentials may result in account termination
4. Content Guidelines
Users may not post content that:
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains explicit, violent, or illegal material
- Harasses, threatens, or discriminates against others
- Contains false or misleading information
- Violates privacy rights of others
- Includes minors without parental consent
5. Subscription Services
For paid subscription tiers (Pro and Business), you agree that:
- Subscriptions are billed monthly until cancelled
- You authorize recurring charges to your payment method
- No refunds for partial months of service
- Prices may change with 30 days notice
- You can cancel at any time; access continues until period end
6. SMS Communications
By opting in to SMS notifications during account registration or appointment booking, you consent to receive transactional text messages from ChairLook including appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellation notifications, and booking status updates. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or disabling SMS notifications in your account preferences. Message frequency varies based on your appointment activity. ChairLook will not send marketing messages via SMS without separate consent.
7. Search Ranking Algorithm
ChairLook uses a transparent ranking algorithm to display search results. Our algorithm considers multiple factors to help users find the best matches for their needs:
- Quality (50% weight): Average star rating and total number of verified client reviews
- Distance (30% weight): Proximity to the user's search location
- Membership Level (20% weight): Professional membership tier (Free, Pro, or Business)
Pro and Business members receive enhanced visibility in search results as a benefit of their subscription. These paid memberships include additional features such as unlimited portfolio images, appointment booking tools, client management systems, and analytics dashboards. The ranking boost reflects the professional investment and enhanced service capabilities of paid members.
All profiles, regardless of membership tier, must maintain quality standards. Users with poor ratings or inappropriate content may be removed from search results or suspended from the platform.
Note: Quality and proximity remain the dominant factors in search ranking. A highly-rated professional who is nearby will rank higher than a lower-rated paid member who is farther away.
8. Talent Search
Business-tier members may access the Talent Search feature to discover professionals open to new opportunities. Contact information for talent profiles is gated behind the Business subscription. Professionals may opt in or out of appearing in talent search results at any time through their profile settings.
9. Reviews and Ratings
Reviews must be based on genuine experiences. Users may not post fake reviews, review their own services, or manipulate ratings. ChairLook reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.
10. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you upload but grant ChairLook a license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the Platform. You represent that you have rights to all content you upload.
11. Limitation of Liability
ChairLook is a discovery platform connecting service providers and clients. We do not employ or endorse service providers. Users assume all risk when booking services. ChairLook is not liable for services rendered, disputes, injuries, or damages arising from user interactions.
12. Account Termination
ChairLook reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without refund. Users may also request account deletion at any time.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated via email or platform notification.
